Printable Chore Charts
I’m so excited to share this incredible project that I’ve been working on for The Dating Divas. We are already so impressed by the huge impact that the chore chart for kids has had on our family – this Spring Cleaning Kit is more than just tips for Spring… it is full of four printable chore charts and four fun cleaning games to get the whole family cleaning together! Plus a bunch of editable cleaning lists to help you get organized.
The other day, I was doing a mad dash through the house cleaning everything. I called out to Owen to help me pick up the legos while I was wiping off the counter. I went to get a load of laundry started and saw that he was finished with the legos, so I had him tidy up the hallway. Everywhere I went, I called out a task for him to help me with. And it was astonishing how he jumped right in to help! If you know Owen {age 5} you know that out of all my kids he has the hardest time pitching in when there is work to do. That’s just not one of his strengths – yet! He has plenty of other awesome traits, though. Anyway, that’s when I had a little epiphany that my kids always seem to work better when they see that I’m working alongside them.
Now I know kids need to be able to work independently, however, they can still work independently when I’m doing other cleaning tasks around the house. And no matter how many kids I have, I’m going to have to do a little cleaning myself each day to stay on top of the clutter. So I figure we might as well do our cleaning tasks together.
Let me tell you about this kit! It has an amazing editable Daily, Weekly and Monthly Cleaning list that helps ME stay on top of what I want to accomplish each week. When I follow this plan – I feel SO much better about life.
Right now, we’re just using the one kid’s chore chart – but there are 4 chore charts in the pack that you can choose from.
- 2 Editable Chore Charts for Kids
- A Couple’s Chore Chart
- A Giant Family Chore Chart
In addition to that, there are 4 amazing cleaning games and activities! These are genius and such a fun way to knock the Saturday house cleaning out!
- Family Speed Cleaning Game
- 4-in-a-Row Cleaning Game
- Tic Tac To-Do Cleaning Game
- Tear Away Rewards Cleaning Activity
Chore Chart for Kids
We use the editable chore chart for kids from this pack to help the kids keep track of their chores. They each have their own little folder with a chore chart, goal sheets and more to help them successfully develop good habits.
We’re still getting in the habit of using these folders effectively, but even with what little we’ve done, we’ve noticed a big difference in the level of responsibility they have and the overall cleanliness of their rooms!
Family Chore Chart
This GIANT family chore chart is amazing and I definitely have plans to incorporate this into our family cleaning system soon! Once we master the individual chore charts. I’ll definitely share that when we finally get it all set up. The kids all have a little house symbol on their kid’s chore charts that will represent the house chore from the GIANT family chore chart. That way we can have variety in the chores and the kids don’t get sick of doing the same chores each week.
For now, the kids are just supposed to do their other chores and they get bonus points from mom if they get them all done and ask mom “is there anything else I can help with today?” for their house chore. Which I’ve found has been amazing… nothing in the world makes me happier than when my kids come and ask what they can do for me! One day, Lanae came up to me and asked and I almost started crying because I thought she was just being thoughtful – I forgot that was one of her “chores.” It was pretty amazing.
Cleaning Games
We’ve loved these fun cleaning games! They definitely make knocking out the Saturday house cleaning a whole lot more fun. Kids are happier, mom is happier and the chores get done! Our favorite is probably the Speed Cleaning Game because we all power through the house together and get a reward once we’re done.
Spring Cleaning Binder
In addition to all the fun chore charts and games, this kit has a Spring Cleaning binder with checklists, tasks, tips, and hacks to make Spring Cleaning easier!
This kit is chock full of cleaning inspiration and tips for how to get the whole family on board with cleaning. Sometimes Spring Cleaning is a bit overwhelming… heck, its May and I haven’t even started my Spring cleaning yet… but I’m pretty sure you can deep clean the house ANY time of the year {not just in the Spring}. Hopefully with a little bit of cleaning love each day, I can put “Spring Cleaning” off until NEXT Spring! 😉
