We just wrapped up one of the most fun months! This year I committed to doing a much better job on kid’s lessons… We put together a schedule and everything!
And we’re sticking to it. We did so many fun snow crafts and activities (that I still need to blog about)… I guess spending quality time with the kids was a bit more important than posting about it. Don’t worry, I’ll get all the ideas up soon.
This was probably my most favorite activity this month. It is just too cute!
I originally wrote this post on BombshellBling.com. Check it out!
This month we are focusing on snow. I love making snowmen from snow, but we don’t have a whole lot of snow around here. So we had a craft day and made our own little snowmen.
They’re both sweet and salty. Who doesn’t love pretzels and white chocolate?
The fun part was figuring out what candies to use for the different parts of the snowman. We decided on mini M&M’s for buttons and earmuffs. Kisses for the hat. Nerds for the nose. Sprinkles for the eyes and the mouth. And Laffy Taffy for the scarf.
You can use pretty much whatever you want to build your pretzel snowman. After making a few cute ones, the kids can make their own using whatever candy they want. Believe me, the kids love being creative and not following exactly what the parents have in mind.
While it is great for kids to have a little order and follow instructions, creativity is also a great skill to develop! I love seeing the ideas that come from my little kid’s heads!
- Pretzel rods
- White chocolate melts
- Candies (Mini M&Ms, Sprinkles, Nerds, Laffy Taffy, etc)
- Melt white chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring until its all the way melted.
- Cover the pretzel rod with chocolate and let set up a bit.
- Then using white chocolate as glue, place the candies where you want them.
