Have you ever made pancake art? It’s totally addicting! I love food art so I am determined to get better at this whole pancake art thing.
I even bought a set of six condiment squeeze bottles so that I could have more control while squeezing the pancake batter. These have already come in handy multiple times. I’m a fan.
So these rainbow pancakes are really fun to make. Not only do the kids think it is super cool making different colors of pancake batter… They were so intrigued when I started making little rainbows in the pan.
I can’t even put words to how excited they were that we got to EAT the rainbow pancakes. Ha ha! Don’t know what else we would do with them. I have never seen them eat so many pancakes in one setting.
Kids are funny.
- Pancake batter
- Food coloring
- Syrup
- Whipped topping
- Make your pancake batter and divide into 6 different containers.
- Add the food coloring into each container and shake well to combine.
- Using one color of pancake batter at a time make an arc. I started with the inside and worked my way out: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red.
- Let cook until the bubbles in the batter are all popped (about 1 minute) and then flip.
- Top with butter, syrup and whipped topping to make clouds.
We also made little round pancake disks to represent gold on one end of the rainbow.

Thanks Kristin! Those little pots of gold were an afterthought, but I thought they were adorable!
