Banana Ice Cream is all the rage on pinterest these days and it’s super easy to make.
Believe me, I was skeptical at first. 1. How could bananas turn into ice cream? And 2. After you turn it into ice cream, does it even taste good?
The answer to question 1. It’s a crazy miracle. Question 2…. It tastes way better than you might think.
The first night we tried banana ice cream was for a special date night with my husband right after we started our no sugar health challenge. We made banana ice cream and then added in different toppings to create 4 different flavors. It was pretty amazing!
We have settled on a simple favorite… Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream. Only 2 ingredients.
Sometimes we add in a few chocolate chips and a scoop of cocoa, but this is fabulous on its own!
So if you are looking for a sweet, healthy treat, try this out. It’s amazing for a nice summer night.
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter
- Slice your ripe bananas and place them in the freezer for several hours. I just do it the night before!
- Place bananas and peanut butter in the blender. Blend until smooth. You will need to push the bananas down a few times and stir it up to get it to blend up really well. Don't over blend, you want a nice creamy consistency.
- I place it back in the freezer for a couple minutes to let it set up a little more before scooping it into bowls.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips!
