I love salsa! We probably have salsa at least two times a week… During the summer probably more like 7 times a week.
Yes, I realize that means we have it daily. Which is the honest truth! We love it!
During family get togethers, my mom has made me the designated salsa and guacamole maker. It’s a tough job getting that salsa just right every time! Especially since I really don’t ever measure. I just throw stuff into a food processor! So much pressure!!
Making salsa is really quite easy. And after doing it so often it becomes easy to kind of eyeball it!
I really love the flavors to be strong in my salsa… This recipe has the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and a little kick from the Jalepeno! I don’t normally measure, but if I did this is where I would start and then I would taste test to make sure it was perfect…
And then I would probably add some more lemon!
- 4 tomatoes
- ¼ cup red onion
- ¼ cup orange or red bell
- 1-2 jalepeno
- 2 tsp lemon or lime
- 1 tsp garlic
- 2 tbsp cilantro
- salt and pepper to taste
- Quarter two tomatoes and add them to the food processor with all the other ingredients. Pulse until all the ingredients are combined and there are no large chunks.
- Dice the other two tomatoes and add them to your salsa!
- Serve with chips or your meal and enjoy!
