This Thanksgiving we have been loving our giant Thankful Tree. My kids love to color and with all the crazy going on lately, we decided to design a giant coloring page that we could color and then decorate with leaves.
The kids are all into animals lately, so we decided to add a few adorable critters to our Thankful Tree. The poster is 24 x 36 and is only $4 to order and pickup from Staples. It’s perfect!!
It was so cathartic to sit and color with the kids, which added to building family memories and I absolutely love how the tree turned out. Our brown markers ran out of ink about halfway through and we had to order another box of markers in order to finish coloring the tree.
These pictures were taken a couple weeks ago, so our tree is looking much more leafy now! We’re planning on continuing to add to the tree until the end of the month. It’s so fun to hear our growing kids talk about things that they are grateful for. It’s so neat to see their little minds thinking or even the side conversations they have when they think we’re not listening.
Just today I was working in the office and heard Owen tell Lanae, Hey, I’m grateful for Jesus! Then she responded, Me too! Let’s tell mom! It was seriously the sweetest thing. They love coming up with new things to add to the tree.
Lanae has been especially sweet and thoughtful in the things that she has come up with. On several occasions this month she has surprised me by telling me she’s grateful for something that I do for her – which just completely melts this mom’s heart!
And of course, Jemison doesn’t really understand much about the whole gratitude thing, but he loves to be involved… which you probably can’t tell by this picture!
I’m so grateful for all my kids and their sweet snuggles this month. They have been beyond understanding and helpful this month as we’ve been dealing with some challenges as a family! Most importantly I am grateful for our Savior and the knowledge that I can be with my family forever. You better believe we’ve added that to our Thankful Tree!
I was hoping to post about this a couple weeks ago to share our fun so anyone else looking for an amazing way to show gratitude this month could use it, but life happens and I’m just barely getting to it now. I’m still adding the printables below for the future! Happy Thanksgiving!
