Family is everything! Each day I’m working to become a better wife and mother. My husband, Scott and I have FOUR adorable children. I spend my days at home teaching, playing and of course, cleaning up after them. They are my life and I love this crazy journey called motherhood. I thrive when I’m creating and making fun and exciting memories with them!
Scott and I have been married for 9 years. Scott just graduated with his Ph.d. in Genetics, and is still hunting to find his dream job or any decent job, really! Which makes life a little intense. But we make finding time for each other a priority. We love to have fun and exciting date nights to help us stay connected and enjoy each other’s company. My work with The Dating Divas definitely helps us keep our dating life full of fun ideas. Most of our dates are easy, inexpensive and from home… because it’s hard to find a good babysitter on a post doc salary. Some of our favorite dates involve DIY projects we are doing to make our home a beautiful place.
My favorite place in the whole house is my kitchen—I love to cook and bake with lots of flavor. I love having my little helpers in the kitchen, too. I love to learn and try new things. Some of my most recent passions are tennis, nutrition, crafting and photography. As a family we love to be outside camping, hiking, park hopping, grilling… you name it! But we also love to gather round the dinner table for games and cuddle up on the couch for storytime!
Education is very important to me. I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. After I graduated I taught for three years in 3rd, 5th and 2nd grade. I loved teaching and learned so much through my experiences. I continue to use my education to teach my family. I have a great love for books and reading. I’m working very hard to pass my love of books on to my children.
Our Beliefs
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I know that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and He loves us.
Our Heavenly Father is mindful of our needs. Sometimes we have to “walk a few steps into the darkness,” before our prayers are answered and the “light appears.” The Lord gives us unique opportunities to help us learn and grow.
I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so that we can repent and continue to become perfect, like Him. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for us and was resurrected. He is our Savior. Because of Him we can live again.
The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. It is the story of an ancient people that lived in the Americas. It was translated by Joseph Smith who restored the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth in the 1800s. When we read the scriptures we can find answers to questions in our every day lives.
In addition to the scriptures, our Father in Heaven has provided modern day prophets. Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God; he leads and guides the church today. The prophets and apostles receive revelation, teach us and help us remember what is most important in our lives.
One of the sweetest blessings we have been given is the temple. It is the House of the Lord and we can receive inspiration and revelation for our personal lives there. In the temple, we can be sealed to our families forever.
