It is definitely so fun to be able to have lessons outside and use things from nature to enrich our education!
My kids are definitely best when we are outside and they will do anything to be able to go outside… Seriously.
We lucked out for sure when L landed in the best months for searching for unique leaves and Kannapolis provided us with so many different kinds of leaves.
It was a blast!
We went on a hunt to see how many fun and different kinds of leaves we could find. It was super fun and both Lanae and Owen were so excited to find leaves!
I made sure to challenge them to find cool leaves so that we could do a fun art project when we got home.
After we got home we let the leaves dry a little and then we made leaf rubbings!
Part two of L is for Leaves week was a really neat art project making leaf animals.
Lanae loved it so much she had to make two.
She couldn’t actually touch the glue gun or place the leaves on the paper once I started using the glue, but she did choose the leaves and place them where she wanted them before I started gluing.
I was very impressed by how well she was able to place the leaves. Her pictures definitely turned out the best!
She made a cute little owl and a little bird! Scott wanted to participate in this project as well. He made a cute squirrel. And of course, I made a big ol’ reindeer!
