Life is kind of crazy right now so we’ve been eating a lot of very simple meals lately. But when its time to celebrate we pull out all the stops! Ha! Scott usually requests some kind of Indian or Chinese food for his birthday.
This year we made our very favorite Chicken Tikka Masala and wanted to pair it with some Naan. But I was in a rush, so decided to try using Rhodes rolls to make Naan. It was quick and easy and so yummy!
For those who aren’t familiar with what Naan is – it’s a kind of flat bread that pairs well with Indian food. Usually it’s baked, but we decided to fry it up!
Alright, so here’s a few tips to make Naan using Rhodes.
Pull out your Rhodes dinner rolls to thaw. They only take about 2 hours to thaw!
Melt about 2-3 tablespoons of butter and mix with a teaspoon of garlic. Stretch out the dough until its spread out pretty thin and throw them on a greased frying pan.
Spread a little garlic butter over the dough as it fries, flip it and spread a little butter on the other side! It should start smelling delicious and make you want to eat it up right then and there.
Once its cooked (3-4 minutes per side). Let it rest for a minute and serve with rice, Chicken Tikka Masala and some cilantro! Oh yum! I’m ready for another helping.
When Scott joined us in Utah a couple weeks ago we were all very busy and stressed about deadlines, so we didn’t get the chance to make him a special meal right away. But this meal was definitely worth the wait!
