Another playdough recipe… The perfect Christmas playdough with glitter and a slight peppermint scent!
I actually made this playdough for some of our friends in the area and the kids don’t even know I made it! I’m excited to surprise them with some sparkly Christmas playdough this week! It’s become their new favorite thing and keeps them so busy and happy.
The sparkles just make this playdough so exciting! I couldn’t help but play with it a little. It might have taken me a while to take pictures because I kept playing with it instead.
I’m also excited for Christmas because I’m pretty sure Santa got the kids some fun playdough tools to make playtime even more exciting. I can’t wait to see Lanae’s eye’s light up when she sees these dough extruders! They are gonna have a blast!
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup salt
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp cream of tarter
- 1-3 drops peppermint essential oil
- white and/or silver glitter
- food coloring (enough to get it to the color you would like)
- Toss all the ingredients into a saucepan and stir until everything is combined and there are no lumps.
- Turn the stove on to medium heat and continuously stir until it starts to clump... Then keep stirring until it is all one big clump!
- Remove from heat and knead by hand.
- Don't overcook because then it dries out. If you do accidentally overcook the playdough, just spray some cooking oil on your hands and knead it into the dough.
- If it is too sticky, sprinkle a little flour on the table while your kneading and it will stop sticking!
- Store in an airtight container and it will last a long time!
I love all the fun Christmas excitement. This is such a special time of year and there are so many little things that bring joy! I love it!
