Light and fluffy dinner rolls! These are amazing for dipping in soup, slathering with butter and jam for a snack and… dinner!
I don’t know if you have a favorite roll recipe. If you don’t, you should definitely try this one. If you do, this will probably replace it!
These rolls do take a bit of time, but they are so worth it! A lot of the time is actually just letting the dough raise–which means you don’t even have to do anything. Make sure you have a dinner roll buddy to keep you company when you get to work!
Jemison was my buddy! While I rolled out the dough we played peek a boo under the table! Oh goodness, he’s the cutest!
Here’s a quick sneak peek of the process:
- 8 to 9 cups flour
- 1 Tbs. yeast
- ½ cup dry milk
- 2 cups water
- ⅔ cup margarine
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- ⅔ cup sugar
- In a large mixer bowl combine 2 cups of the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and dry milk.
- Add warm water and melted butter, stirring constantly. Add eggs and beat together.
- Knead in as much remaining flour to make a moderate stiff dough that is smooth and elastic. Cover, and let rise till double.
- Divide into two equal parts. Roll out and spread butter on top. Shape into desired shape. Let rise and bake @ 375 for 12 to 15 mins.
I made 45 rolls and they were gone in two days. I probably shouldn’t have shared that little fact with you because now you know that my family pretty much eats non-stop. But I feel that explains how good these rolls are! Ha ha.
These rolls are so pretty which makes them great for special occasions!
If you don’t have time to make these delicious rolls, I highly recommend trying out these pretty little rolls! They are so easy!
