Do you want to know the secret to the perfect pizza dough?? It is seriously super easy! And the crust turns our perfect pretty much every time!!
This pizza dough takes about 5 minutes to throw together in a mixer! That’s quick, huh?
Then you just wait about 30 minutes until it rises (about double).
While you are waiting pre-heat the oven and stick your Pizza Stone in so that it can heat up with your oven.
Split the dough into two equal portions. This recipe makes 2 pizzas!
Using a little flour, roll one of your mounds of dough out into a circle. A good rolling pin makes all the difference; this is my favorite rolling pin of all time!
The size of your circle will depend on the size of your pizza stone. Mine is 15 inches. Yes, the pizza stone is the BIG secret!
It is easy to use and makes your dough nice a crispy, while the crust remains light and fluffy. The pizza stone is a must have in the kitchen… if you love Homemade Pizza!
Anyway, back to the pizza.
Once you have your dough rolled out, pull the Pizza Stone out of the oven (with oven mitts, of course, it will be HOT). Sprinkle a little bit of corn meal on the stone. It will make it so the dough doesn’t stick!
Carefully fold your dough and then place it on the pizza stone.
Now you are ready to top it all off!! While you are topping it off, the dough will start to bake because the pizza stone is hot. This makes the crust super crispy!!

Quick notes about Pizza Stones:
- Always preheat the pizza stone. However, make sure you place the stone in the oven before turning the oven on so it heats up with the oven. You don’t want to shock the pizza stone or it might shatter.
- Be very careful when pulling it out of the oven because it is hot! Make sure you have hot pads ready so that you have somewhere to set it so you can prep your pizza!
- They get better and better with time! Each time you use the stone it becomes a little more seasoned.
- Do not use soap to clean off the Pizza Stone because it will soak in and ruin your next pizza. Just use warm water and if needed, a knife, to scrape off the little bits that don’t come off immediately.
