I love Christmas. I love the feel and the spirit of Christmas and how it makes people want to be good and do good for others!!
This week we started our advent calendar and I’m so excited to do some really fun things. But also, some really spiritual things to help us remember the true reason for the season. This week, we watched a little video called He is the Gift. It is beautiful!

We also “read” a great book called Stars, Stockings and Shepherds. This book goes through so many of the little symbols that we use to celebrate Christmas and explains their meaning! It was amazing for me to be reminded of what the symbols mean and the pictures are beautiful!
Lanae told me it was her most favorite book ever because daddy wrapped it! Dads get all the credit ’round here.
We’ve decked our halls! I made some beautiful stockings this year that I’ll be sharing some details on shortly!
Last night we made delicious popcorn treats… and popcorn ornaments (you know, instead of a whole strand… we have short attention spans around here). It’s really easy. Just grab a needle and thread and make a batch of popcorn. No butter or salt. Then thread about 4-5 pieces of popcorn and tie knots on either end! See? Easy!
Although, my mother told me that it was a bit “different” which probably means weird… but the kids LOVE them! And that’s what matters.
And there is still so much more fun family time ahead of us! I’ll be sharing details, how-tos and much of the fun here! I hope you’ll join in and share some of the fun things that you are doing this Christmas!
Tonight, we’re gonna have a DIY indoor snowball fight! Sounds fun, right??
Later, we’re hosting a Cookie Exchange, making more ornaments, visiting a petting zoo (and probably Santa, too–for my first time ever–that I can remember)… I’m so excited!
